"I Think I Know Why He May Be Mentioning 'Demons' In His Name. I Think He's Tanked."
-- RD Reynolds on yours truly from the 10/2 episode of "Wrestlecrap Radio".

It's time for another "Product Review". When I started this over at my MySpace page it was a way to write on the ole blog about not only merchandise that I bought but also movies that I had recently seen. Now it has been transformed into something that when I find something that may be Pop Culture & Pro Wrestling related. Then I have to see it and review it for you all.

This time I saw something quite literally out there...

Product Review: "The Haunted World of El Superbeasto".

"The Haunted World of El Superbeasto" is a Straight-To-DVD animated movie that is written, produced, and directed by Rob Zombie. That's right, Rob Zombie! The same man who used to sing such classics as "Living Dead Girl", "Dragula", & "More Human Than Human"; then later on Zombie became an acclaimed horror movie director behind such films as "House of 1000 Corpses", "The Devil's Rejects", and the remakes of "Halloween" & "Halloween II". This time around Rob Zombie decided to do an animated movie based on a comic book that he did.

"The Haunted World of El Superbeasto", or "Superbeasto" for short, is a movie about a famous Luchador wrestler named "El Superbeasto". El Superbeasto is so famous he has his own business that he stars in his own movies, create his own CDs, everything. Think of Superbeasto like a masked Hulk Hogan only younger and more sexually promiscuous. Superbeasto lives in "Monster World" where humans and monsters co-exist. Superbeasto is somehow caught up in a plot by Dr. Satan to marry famous stripper Velvet Von Black from acquiring the powers of Hell itself. Superbeasto must stop Dr. Satan from marrying Velvet Von Black and at the same time try to "tap" Velvet Von Black's ass "if-you-know-what-I-mean". Superbeasto is assisted by his sister the very sexy one-eye patch wearing Suzi X & Suzi X's personal robot/"Transformer" Murray who wants to sleep with Suzi X.

The animation of the movie when you first notice it is awesome. I honestly thought the animation came from the same people that did "Ren & Stimpy" but after doing some research I was wrong.

The first five minutes of the movie basically gives you an idea on what the whole story is about. Superbeasto is auditioning women for his latest movie with his pet cat directing the movie and most of the audition process is big boobed women going topless trying to get into the movie, which turns out later to be a porno with Superbeasto "making sweet love down by the fire" to his auditioned women, which there was no actual penetration shots at the time.

Most of the movie is highly sexual. You see all of the women sporting huge boobs running topless, a full body nude from Suzi-X, a hot clothing-ripping cat fight, or a couple of scenes of women looking like they are receiving "oral love" in one form or another but in fact they were not. For the average person this would probably turn them off to the movie pretty quick. But since you’re reading this your probably turned on seeing hot chicks semi-nude or nude in one way or another. To me it slowly de-sensitized me to all the nudity around. It is kind of like the episode of "Friends" where Chandler & Joey had free porn and at first they were so excited they had it then after a few days of having it on TV they didn't care about it anymore.

The storyline is weak thanks in part to the bad jokes in the movie, A LOT of bad jokes. In one scene you have Superbeasto fighting off a monster using a guy with very large testicles as a weapon. Yeah. Also add all the Fourth Wall (Fourth wall: All the action that the audience sees, it is in front of the stage.) jokes were not that funny. Then there's the side story of Suzi-X & Murray fighting off Zombie Nazis. Cool to see but never really got why this side story in the movie was a lot when the movie is mostly about Superbeasto.

The movie has a great voice cast. Tom Papas as "Superbeasto" ("The Informant!", "The New Adventures Of Old Christine), Brian Posehn as "Murray" ("Brutal Legend", "The Sarah Silverman Program"), Paul Giamatti as "Dr. Satan" ("Duplicity", "Fred Claus", "Sideways", "Cinderella Man"), Rosario Dawson as "Velvet Von Black" ("Sin City", "Seven Pounds", "Death Proof", "Clerks 2" & I have a MAJOR crush on her.), & a certain someone named Sherri Moon Zombie as "Suzi X" ("House of 1000 Corpses", "The Devil's Rejects", "Halloween" & being Rob Zombie's FREAKING wife!). There are a lot of guess voices that are a part of the movie including Dee Wallace ("E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial", "Halloween", "The Blue Rose"), Tom Kenny (Voice of "SpongeBob Squarepants), Larraine Newman ("Saturday Night Live"), Harland Williams ("Big Money Hustlas", "Freddy Got Fingered", "RocketMan", "Half Baked"), Cassandra Petersen ("Elvira, Mistress Of The Dark"), & Debra Wilson ("MAD TV").

Most of the original music in the movie is done by the music duo "Hard 'N' Phirm" which is "Attack Of The Show!" /"Web Soup's" Chris Hardrick & Comedian Mike Phirman. Most of the music was not really good. In fact most of it was pretty bland. However the one song they did was about the clothe tearing catfight between Suzi X & Velvet Von Black where they sing that, and I'm paraphrasing here, "its okay to masturbate to this even though its animated because Japan does it all the time." I was laughing on that one.

Overall: This DVD is definitely a rental because it is an unique film that should be seen. Do not buy it though because personally speaking it’s too bad to be seen over and over again. Once again those that are way too bothered by female nudity just dodge this movie altogether.

"The Haunted World Of El Superbeasto" can be found anywhere which includes "Best Buy" where I got my copy. Rob Zombie is going back to singing again. Click here to find out where Rob Zombie will be performing.

Until next time. (right click it).
