"I Think I Know Why He May Be Mentioning 'Demons' In His Name. I Think He's Tanked."
-- RD Reynolds on yours truly from the 10/2/09 episode of "Wrestlecrap Radio".

Guess what time it is? It's "Random Thoughts" time. The column where I take news items or things unable to fill a column; like trying to figure out how to run a NBC Late Night Line-Up after hearing complaints from your affiliates TV stations for "The Jay Leno Show" blows, try to arrange the line-up a little bit, make some personnel changes, and I have for you a fresh new NBC Late Night Line-Up. Yeah I might anger some people along the way but who cares?!? Also this is the column where I answer anything that you send me in the form of an e-mail, a MySpace message, NOW Facebook message (link later on in the column), and a Twitter direct message. In exchange I'll answer it for you right here and I will promote or shill for you for anything. Word of Mouth advertising is one of the greatest ways to promote what a person has don't you know?

No "Mailbag" this time around. Keyboard Cat is somehow missing during the Holidays. Can't seem to find him. But the news of my Facebook page will be added real soon.

This version of the "Random Thoughts" will cover the past couple of weeks due to the whole TNA/WWE "Monday Night Wars" version 2.

Let's start off with...

1. The most recent news of the day and that is the death of ex-WWE wrestler Ludvig Borga. Borga wrestled with WWE in the mid 1990s and he was a "bad guy" wrestler hating America for being a major polluter. If Borga's character was around today he would be more of a mix of "good guy/bad guy" wrestler because environmentalists would LOVE the fact that WWE had someone like him on their programming. Unfortunately when Borga was in the mid 1990s competing for WWE, he stunk up the crowd bad! Borga did compete in the international scene when he picked up an IWGP Tag Team Title run. Cause of death in unknown as of this column. Whatever may happen. Rest In Peace Borga.

2. The other big news that hit recently is the announcement of the "2009 Gooker Awards" from Wrestlecrap.com. "The Gooker" is pro wrestling equivalent of the popular "Razzie Awards" that awards the worst of the movies. Fellow "Gooker" winners have included "The WWE/WCW Invasion", "Hornswoggle as Vince McMahon's Illegitmate Son", & "The Exploitation Of Eddie Guerrero after his death." The nominations for the "Gookers" are the following: "The Abraham Washington Show", "Santina Marella & Miss Wrestlemania", "Sharmell vs Jenna Morasca Match" (which you can review the recap of myself watching that horrid match right...HERE!, "The Hornswoggle/Chavo Guerrero Feud", "The Denver Debacle", "Daffney playing Sarah Palin", & "The BAD Raw Guest Hosts". To cast your vote click on the the following link. You have until Jan. 22 to vote and the "winner", if you can call it that, will be announced on Jan. 29. I want to you all to vote for "Sharmell/Jenna" because if it wins I will give ONE HELL OF A RANT over at Jenna Morasca's MySpace Page just to say how bad she really is.

3. Now for the REAL news of the past two weeks. "The Monday Night Wars" was re-started last week when TNA puts "IMPACT" on Monday Night to compete with WWE's "RAW". What happened on both shows I'll get into later but right now this is all about the technical aspects of the shows. Hulk Hogan has been talking about how "IMPACT" will earn three times the ratings which is about 3.0 on the Nielsen Ratings. The results are in. "RAW" earned 3.37, "IMPACT" earned 1.69. Granted the "IMPACT" ratings is the highest that TNA has ever earned in its lifetime but it is not the ratings that Hogan has been bragging about. On one side TNA has shown that it COULD make a dent on WWE's ratings. I see it as Hogan biting off more than he can chew.

4. Continuing on with the "Monday Night Wars" analysis. Both shows pulled out all the stops. For TNA they hired and re-hired the following: Scott Hall, Sean "X-Pac" Waltman, Ric Flair, Angelina Love (I guess her Visa problems have been settled), Sean "Val Venis" Morely, and Shannon Moore. The shocker TNA debut happens to be the re-hiring of Jeff Hardy. Some of the re-hires it is starting to feel like TNA is really living up to the moniker of being the latest version of "WCW". Angelina Love returning will get the fanboys that are sexually aroused by her really happy. Jeff Hardy on the other hand may be, personally speaking, the stupidest thing TNA has ever done. In the short term Hardy returning to TNA gives them attention but Hardy is a personal relations nightmare at the moment since he could go to jail for the drug possession & trafficking charges. "RAW" on the other hand re-hired someone that might had buried the hatchet with them when they re-hired Bret "The Hitman" Hart. Most fans think Hart back is WWE's response to TNA. Not the case. Hart's return was mostly because of The Hart Dynasty and how he wants to help them out in the near future. Don't expect a match from him soon since Hart has said repeatedly he cannot wrestle again due to the stroke. Fans were into "IMPACT" into it until "RAW" aired. Overall it looks like everything old is new again.

5. During the past couple of weeks love bloomed over for both companies. On TNA Suicide (Frankie "Kaz" Kazarian) & Traci Brooks got married while over at WWE Drew McIntyre & Tiffany are engaged to get married. Nothing to say here but congratulations to both of the couples.

6. I have to admit I do know a little something on the collecting side because I used to run a baseball card business with friends so I know how the whole business works. So this news is for all the geeks out there that are channeling "The 40 Year Old Virgin". Or "TNA Fans" if your Dixie Carter. The JAKKS Pacific WWE toys are starting to be cleared off the shelves of "Toys R' Us" stores to make way for the Mattel WWE toys. WWE ended their contract with JAKKS Pacific sometime ago and went to Mattel. So let me say the following for all of you out there. START YOUR HOARDING NOW!

7. Now for hires or fires that the other companies have done recently. WWE has released a LOT of developmental wrestlers to start their yearly purge which will end at Wrestlemania. Notable developmental releases were DJ Gabriel, Sweet Papi Sanchez, & Chris The Bambikiller. Any of you that are in WWE that are not doing well I recommend to start saving your money. TNA on the other hand just made me ill. So ill that I might never watch it again. TNA hired a star that will be starring on the upcoming "Twilight Saga: Eclipse" movie by hiring BooBoo Stewart. TNA HIRES SOME GUY ON A MOVIE FILLED WITH FRUITY VAMPIRES AND "TRANSFORMER" LIKE WEREWOLVES?!? Granted its a business move to get the "Twi-Hards" (fans of "Twilight") over to TNA. Personally speaking I may not watch TNA ever again because of this. Then again...Hrm... Protecting my masculinity on one hand OR afraid of Christy Hemme or Tara kicking my ass. That's a tough decision.

8. Oh fun. Big Show did an interview with The UK Sun. Big Show said, and I quote him: "I want to let you know flat out there's not anybody good enough to take my position. And I'm certainly not going to give my position up just because I've been on top for a while, and nor would anyone else." Show doesn't even realize that the young talent can take his spot but WWE is so gun shy that the status quo was enforced for over a YEAR! Show also adds by saying: "If there's another giant that can walk in and take my position, then good for him. He can run with it and I'll retire. Until then I'm going to work on top as long as I can, make as much money as I can and entertain the fans as much as I can. It's up to the younger generation to come to the locker room, step up and be leaders." Does Show realize that big men like him are rare as any good movie starring Paris Hilton? There are good young talent that can become a part of WWE but the problem is with the economy. WWE will not take a chance with any young talent in the near future.

9. Donald Trump made the rumors official on who will be on the latest season of "Celebrity Apprentice". Adding Maria & Goldberg to the show will be the following: Impeached Governor Rod Blagojevich, Comedian Sinbad, TV Chef Curtis Stone, "Victoria's Secret" model Selita Ebanks, Comedienne/TV Writer/Actor Carol Leifer, "Rock Of Love" star Bret Michaels, MLB Baseball Player Darryl Strawberry, "America's Got Talent" & former WWE Raw Guest Host Sharon Osbourne, Sports Interviewer Summer Sanders, Olympic Athlete Michael Johnson, Singer Cyndi Lauper, & Actress Holly Robinson Peete. Unfortunately I'll cover the show when it airs in March when I'll have to watch the show because of Maria & Goldberg and based on the last two seasons that I glanced over this show WILL be bad.

10. And finally. Number 10 is usually reserved for yours truly but I got to give out a mini-rant here about Hulk Hogan. Great to be Hogan's friend when on "IMPACT" you get a job when "The Nasty Boys" & radio host "Bubba The Love Sponge" are employed on TNA. Adding the fact that Hogan has been speaking about removing TNA's trademark Six-Sided Ring in place for a traditional ring. Personally I think Hogan will use TNA as revenge against WWE for whatever problems that Hogan has with Vince McMahon. Hogan claims that he wants to "bring back the wrestling". TNA is already the home of where former WWE wrestlers go now and Hogan will make it worse. Anything that can make TNA an unique product I am all for. Bringing back WCW-esque formats like what I mentioned before & creating "TNA Live" which is TNA's version of "WCW Live" I don't think will help. TNA needs to be unique. TNA being a wrestling company where the talents of a AJ Styles or a Desmond Wolfe will make TNA a great company. TNA turning into Hogan's attempt to create a personal vendetta against WWE is not what I want. Hogan claims that he put WCW on the map. Hogan doesn't want to mention that he also was one of the reasons that WCW was destroyed as well. Just something I want to remind you all in the near future.

And with that. I'll end the column right there.
