"I Think I Know Why He May Be Mentioning 'Demons' In His Name. I Think He's Tanked."
-- RD Reynolds on yours truly from the 10/2/09 episode of "Wrestlecrap Radio".

Before we continue on here I would like to add some quick news here. Maria was recently interviewed on SIRIUS Radio, which was her first interview after she was “Future Endeavored”. Maria said one of the reasons she thought she was let go was because she “wanted to do other projects”. Maria means that she wanted to do other things than what WWE wanted to do with her. No problems because like I said in the previous column she will be in the latest “RAW vs. Smackdown” Game.

Also since “The Celebrity Apprentice” is coming around the corner. I have to do this column a little bit earlier than planned because since I’ll be busy with covering that. I’ll squeeze in my Wrestlemania predictions along the way. For now though. Guess what time it is?

It's "The Road To Wrestlemania" time once again. When storylines are put to the limit. Certain storylines are crammed down our throats to the point we are puking ad nausea, the stars, you name it. Also added are the traditional Wrestlemania moments like the "Money In The Bank" Ladder Match, which unfortunately it will be the last time we will see “Money In The Bank” at Wrestlemania since it has become its own Pay-Per-View. But there's one tradition that has, well me personally, everybody wondering from time-to-time.

I'm talking about Undertaker's undefeated streak at Wrestlemania. Now generally speaking a wrestlers undefeated win streak is mostly a gimmick in order to make him look good as a monster ("Monster"=unstoppable) good guy or a bad guy. But sometimes a streak can be legit and the promotion must stick to the streak. Goldberg's win streak is a great example of this. At first Goldberg was just doing his job then someone noticed that not only he was doing good, he was doing real good! So WCW stuck with the streak as long as they could. Same thing as Undertaker. Ever since his Wrestlemania debut at Wrestlemania 7, Undertaker has not lost a match and has provided quality entertainment for us the fans.

We're going to take a different look at the undefeated streak. History lesson time. Like what WWE does around this time we're going to take a look at Undertaker's Wrestlemania's undefeated win streak, their opponents, and where they are right now!

Let's start off with...
Wrestlemania VII: Undertaker d. "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka

Then: The "Superfly" tried for a comeback career in the wakes of "Superfly Billy Graham". But this time around he's a savage Samoan.

Now: Believe it or not Snuka is STILL wrestling! Wrestled in indies here and there. Even was a manager for his son (better known as Sim Snuka). Snuka was inducted in the WWE Hall Of Fame in 1996. Now he appears in random WWE skits or matches now and then.

Wrestlemania VIII: Undertaker d. Jake "The Snake" Roberts

Then: Master of in-ring psychology and at times one of the most evil heels around. Jake wanted to really screw with Undertaker.

Now: How the mighty have fallen. After leaving WWE then coming back as a born-again Christian his push was killed thanks to "Stone Cold" Steve Austin creating "Austin 3:16". After that his inner demons took over his life. With a major drug dependence Roberts slowly became really unstable and hard to hire. He was featured in "Beyond The Mat" and due to that movie got hired in a lot of promotions. Then there came the legendary "Heroes of Wrestling" PPV where Roberts was completely stoned out of his mind where the big high light was using his snake as a surrogate penis. Roberts took WWE's offer of any former employee past and present can go into drug rehab that WWE will pay for. Roberts was clean for awhile, even posting reviews of RAW on his MySpace Page. Until October 2008 when he was caught on film at an indy event looking very intoxicated. Roberts claimed to this day he was "drugged" at that event. Currently Roberts is still wrestling the indy scene.

Wrestlemania IX: Undertaker d. Giant Gonzales by DQ

Then: Stolen from WCW. Giant Gonzales was a 7-foot wrestler dressed in a body suit that looked like...a muscle suit? It should be noted that this was the only victory Undertaker won by DQ.

Now: Well only thing he did well was signing a WWE Legends contract with Jakks so they can create a figure of him. Else...not good. Mostly recognized as one of the biggest disasters in the ring. His health hasn't been very well as of late since he is now wheel-chair ridden thanks to his size.

Undertaker wasn't in Wrestlemania X due to injury.

Wrestlemania XI: Undertaker d. King Kong Bundy

Then: Known as one of the most vicious big "fat" men. Bundy did some heinous things like squashing midgets for example. Known for bringing in the "Avalanche" running splash and making referees count to 5.

Now: Bundy still wrestles today in certain indy promotions. Bundy also got some serious screen time on TV & movies. My favorites were the two appearances he made on "Married With Children"

Wrestlemania XII: Undertaker d. Diesel
Then: Former Bodyguard of Shawn Michaels, Diesel becomes the main good guy of WWE.
Now: Where shall I begin with Kevin "Diesel" Nash? Appeared in a LOT of TV & movies (most notable in "The Punisher" & "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret Of The Ooze"). Then he apparently left WWE to some wrestling promotion called WCW and started "The Outsiders" with former WWE employee Scott Hall, which started something called "The nWo." After WCW went bankrupt and bought out by WWE Nash was on WWE programming for a bit. Nash then moved to TNA where he messed around with the X-Division & having feuds with Kurt Angle & Samoa Joe. Most recently Kevin Nash has been a part of the new “Hogan/Bischoff” regime over at TNA where Nash is feuding with his old friends Scott Hall & Sean “X-Pac” Waltman.

Wrestlemania 13: Undertaker d. Sycho Sid

Then: Looney nutball Sid just loved hurting people. This would be one of three matches for a World Title (he wrestled for the WWE Title) and one of five matches that was a stipulation match since this match was a "No DQ" match.

Now: Sid Vicious wrestled in ECW then back in WCW. Probably most remembered for breaking for his leg LIVE on WCW Pay-Per-View "Sinn" which was at that time one of the most gruesome injuries ever to happen on live TV. Vicious enjoyed retirement for a bit then wrestled in a couple of indy promotions. Recently Vicious has been taking a part of anything internet-related by being part of internet show’s like with his friend Scott Hall’s new show “Last Call with Scott Hall”. Rumor has it that Sid Vicious is trying to get back in WWE.

Wrestlemania XIV: Undertaker d. Kane

Then: Undertaker's brother mysteriously appears clad in a mask from injuries that Undertaker somehow caused. Kane would be the only person to appear in the streak twice.

Now: Then Kane was masked and wearing a wig. Now Kane STILL wrestles in WWE. Kane has even won the ECW World Title which looked like during his career that he would never win a World Title ever again. Recently Kane qualified in his second ever “Money In The Bank” for Wrestlemania 26 which he’ll take on fellow “Streak” member Mark Henry, Christian, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, Shelton Benjamin, MVP, Matt Hardy, and a “To Be Announced” wrestler for the remaining spot.

Wrestlemania XV: Undertaker d. The Big Bossman

Then: Former prison guard turned security enforcer. The Big Bossman liked beating people up for money. This is the second of five matches that was a stipulation match since this match was a "Hell In A Cell" match.

Now: After wrestling for years in WWE. Ray "The Big Bossman" Traylor was sent to OVW to train new wrestlers. Then when WWE fired him. He went to Japan for a high profile title tournament. Sadly Ray Traylor died of a heart attack in Sept. 22, 2004.

Undertaker was injured for Wrestlemania 16 A.K.A. Wrestlemania 2000.

Wrestlemania X-Seven: Undertaker d. Triple H

Then: Part of the "McMahon-Helmsley era". "The Game" would flaunt his influence on WWE by doing whatever he want. This would be the Wrestlemania debut of The Undertaker as “The American Bad Ass” biker gimmick.

Now: Hrm...Triple H is still wrestling in WWE & he won more World Titles. Reunited his old stable "D-Generation X" while creating another one "Evolution". Oh and he married Vince McMahon's daughter, the head of WWE Creative Stephanie McMahon. Triple H has been a part of his “on again” & “off again” reunion with “Streak” member Shawn Michaels for “D-Generation X”. Currently looks like Triple H will be part of a feud that will involve Sheamus in one form or another that will lead to Wrestlemania 26.

Wrestlemania X8: Undertaker d. "Nature Boy" Ric Flair

Then: Ring legend Ric Flair returns as "co-owner" of RAW. And somehow Undertaker ends up fighting him. This is the third of five matches that was a stipulation match since this match was a "No DQ" match.

Now: Flair hasn't changed much. Well there's his divorce from his wife, his bankruptcy, his road rage incident, getting in trouble with the law because of his daughter, & his business "Ric Flair Financial" going bankrupt for starters. Flair was inducted in the 2008 WWE Hall Of Fame and retired at Wrestlemania 24. Flair has been doing the autograph signings and the speaking gigs. Ric Flair was a part of Ring Of Honor for awhile before he left to return to WWE for a few appearances. Unfortunately Flair leaving Ring Of Honor early ended up with Flair breaking his contract with them so Ring Of Honor is suing Ric Flair. Flair then came out of retirement to be a part of Hulk Hogan’s indy wrestling tour of Australia which caused a lot of press mostly due to the bloody brawl Hogan & Flair caused in the press release in Australia. Flair got married again which caused the police to come over and arrest Flair’s wife for assault on him. Recently Ric Flair is working in TNA as a manager for TNA World Champion AJ Styles and making him the next “Nature Boy”. Flair will be getting back in the ring on the Mar. 8th debut of “TNA Impact” with AJ Styles and will be taking on Abyss & Hulk Hogan.

Wrestlemania XIX: Undertaker d. The Big Show & The A-Train

Then: Kinda grumpy when Big Show lost a Royal Rumble qualifying match thanks to Brock Lesnar, Big Show teams up with The A-Train to take out Undertaker. This is the fourth of five matches that was a stipulation match since this match was a "Handicap" match.

Now: Let's start off with The Big Show: Big Show wrestled in WWE for a bit. Went to ECW to become World Champ and the only person ever to win the ECW, WWE, and WCW World Titles. Quit WWE. Wrestled in a couple of indy shows but mostly it was to train to become a boxer. Returned to WWE to compete in a Wrestlemania in an exhibition boxing match versus Floyd Mayweather. Since then Big Show has won a couple of Unified Tag Team Title runs with Chris Jericho & The Miz. The Big Show & The Miz a.k.a. “ShowMiz” will be wrestling in Wrestlemania 26 where they would be putting up their titles versus John Morrison & R-Truth. Next is The A-Train: A-Train wrestled in WWE for awhile before being released. Wrestled in the indy promotions for a year. Currently A-Train is in Japan wrestling in their major promotions and will be coming back to America to do some autograph signings.

Wrestlemania XX: Undertaker d. Kane

Then: Kane (now without mask and wig) being royally hoarked off at Undertaker for losing his way. Kane takes out Undertaker before Wrestlemania. This match would bring Undertaker back as "The Dead Man" Supernatural gimmick. This is the second time Kane wrestled Undertaker at Wrestlemania and is the only person that appears twice in the streak.

Now: See Wrestlemania XIV

Wrestlemania 21: Undertaker d. Randy Orton

Then: "The Legend Killer" that is Randy Orton wanted to add Undertaker to his list of Legends that he "defeated".

Now: "Everybody's Favorite Douchebag" is still being a douchebag. Only difference then and now is Orton is married and has his own wrestling stable called “Legacy”. Or had until the blow-up recently between Orton and his fellow “Legacy” members Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase Jr. At this year's Wrestlemania.

Wrestlemania 22: Undertaker d. Mark Henry

Then: "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry wanted to show Undertaker who rules the ring so he tried to take him out. This is a revenge match. This is the final of five matches that was a stipulation match since this match was a "Casket" match.

Now: Mark Henry is still with WWE, and with most fans that's like trying to kill a cockroach with a nuclear bomb. Caused a lot of controversy a couple of years ago when Henry tried to sue WWE for racial discrimination when WWE Creative member Michael Hayes called him a "racial slur". Henry won the ECW World Title. Henry moved over to RAW where he’s a tag team with MVP. Recently Mark Henry qualified in the “Money In The Bank” for Wrestlemania 26 which he’ll take on fellow “Streak” member Kane, Christian, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, Shelton Benjamin, MVP, Matt Hardy, and a “To Be Announced” wrestler for the remaining spot.

Wrestlemania 23: Undertaker d. Batista.

Then: Undertaker winning The Royal Rumble chooses Batista, the World Champion, to a World Heavyweight Title Match. This would be the second of three matches for a World Title (he wrestled for the World Heavyweight Title)

Now: During his time off from injury Batista made the straight-to-DVD movie “Wrong Side Of Town” starring Rob Van Dam. Not much as of late. Batista returned from injury last year and turned up the “bad guy” role to the max. Batista won the WWE Title at “No Way Out” by beating John Cena, who just wrestled an “Elimination Chamber” match. Batista will be defending the WWE Title versus John Cena at Wrestlemania 26

Wrestlemania 24: Undertaker d. Edge

Then: Winning an "Elimination Chamber Match" at last year's PPV "No Way Out". Undertaker earned the right to wrestle Edge, the World Champion, to a World Heavyweight Title Match. Unfortunately it would be a problem because Edge is married to Smackdown GM Vickie Guerrero. And Edge was exploiting that marriage for his own personal benefit. This would be the final of three matches for a World Title (he wrestled for the World Heavyweight Title).

Now: Edge was "sent to hell" to take some time off. But when he came back he got a WWE Title win and a World Heavyweight Champion run. Edge won the Unified World Tag Team titles from Chris Jericho but Edge became unlucky when he received a career threatening Achilles Injury which would had take Edge out of pro wrestling for up to a year. Edge came back at this year’s Royal Rumble and wins the “Royal Rumble Match” which earned him a WWE/World Heavyweight Title match at Wrestlemania 26. Recently Edge said he will compete for the World Heavyweight Title versus the current champion Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania 26.

Wrestlemania 25: Undertaker d. "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels

Then: JBL, Vladimir Kozlov, and Shawn Michaels all wanted to wrestle Undertaker at Wrestlemania. After a series of matches Michaels won the right to wrestle Undertaker at Wrestlemania.

Now: Shawn Michaels match with Undertaker at Wrestlemania 25 was declared “Match Of The Year” by WWE fans & wrestling fans worldwide. After that match Michaels took some time off to heal and to spend it with his family. Michaels came back to re-unite “D-Generation X” with fellow “Streak” member Triple H. Shawn Michaels & WWE has been pushing for a re-match for Wrestlemania 26, which looks like that will happen.

17 Men. 17 Wins. All of them somewhat legends in the ring that are a part of the streak. Shawn Michaels gets a second chance to break the streak. Michaels is making history becoming the second person ever to compete for the streak and the first ever back-to-back straight re-match for the streak. The re-match will be a “Career vs. Streak Match” where if Michaels loose he might retire from WWE. Fans are divided over who will win this match so bad that it is turning into the “Twilight” movies where there are “Team Taker” & “Team HBK” supporting who will win their match at Wrestlemania 26. Adding to this the re-match could be Undertaker’s last match in WWE since there are rumors about Undertaker wanting to retire. Question is this. Will Shawn Michaels finally break the streak? Will The Undertaker retire after Wrestlemania? Or will Shawn Michaels become a part of it again?
